AYT, a new family theater dedicated to expanding the repertory of multi-cultural youth-oriented theater, is casting its winter workshop production:

BUNDLE IF STICKS

Casting teen actors and 6 - 12 pre-teens:

MISER AND HIS GOLD
A wealthy man obsessively fears he will be robbed;
intermediate level actor who can sing and act; dance not required, though moving well could be helpful.

BOY WHO CRIED WOLF
A child discovers what happens when s/he cries wolf once too often.
Boy: intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, dance and act;
Man Hires boy as shepherd.
Intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, act and move well.

MILKMAID AND HER PAIL
Milkmaid fantasizing what she will do when she's rich,
intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, dance and act;
Narrator:
beginning/intermediate level actor.

FARMER AND THE NIGHTINGALE
intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, dance and act; Nightingale
Charming, ditzy, flighty ingenue outsmarts her would be captor
Farmer:
intermediate level comic actor, (WC Fields)

ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
Prepare today for what you'll need tomorrow!
The Grasshopper: loves to have fun, and live for today!
Grasshopper: intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, dance and act;
Ant: knows the future is here before you know it.
intermediate level "triple threat" who can sing, dance and act;

BUNDLE OF STICKS
Ensemble of 3 beginning/intermediate level actors who love to sing, and are beginning to move.
FATHER: beginning/intermediate actor.

FOX AND THE GRAPES
Narrator: beginning/intermediate level actor.
Fox: beginner /intermediate level actor who loves to dance.


No previous experience is required, although experienced teens would do well with the main characters. Acting, singing and dancing training will be provided during the workshop rehearsal process. An audition is required for teens and any youth interested in a named character.

An interview with child and guardian is required for kids under 12. Rehearsals, 2 -3 times a week, are in midtown Manhattan, and a theatrical performance will take place in December.




Introductory Fee: $150.00




Participants will receive a 20% discount on all classes/workshops offered for 6 months after the Production.
